Day 01: Punta Arenas
Transfer from the airport to our Punta Arenas Hotel. Evening orientation.
Dinner and Overnight in Hotel.
Day 02: Seno Otway
Morning pick-up at your Punta Arenas hotel. Drive to Seno Otway to visit arookery of over 2 thousand Magallenic Penguins. Picnic lunch. In theafternoon we enter Torres del Paine National Park where we have greatviewing of guanaco and rhea. Camp at Las Torres. (All meals -- B,L,D --included through day 7.)
Day 03: Valle Ascensio to the very base of the granite Towers ofPaine
It is a beautiful hike through the steppe and Southern Beech foreststo the alpine glacier and its tarn beneath an incredible vertical world of iceand granite. The views are spectacular. Return to camp in the evening. (B,L,D)Day 04: After breaking camp, a short morning drive through fascinating guanacobreeding grounds brings us to the edge of Lago Nordenskjold right in front ofthe famous "Horns" of Paine (the Cuernos). After hiking to the electric falls ofSalto Grande, we make a short crossing of Lago Pehoe on a stable catamaranto our campsite.

Day 05: Grey Glacier
Today we hike to the edge of the Grey Glacier through a temperate rainforestthat clings to the mountain's steep sides. Such lush vegetation next to the iceand below the steep summit of Paine Grande is a unique environment. Oftenwe are treated to the sight of the magnificent Magalenic Woodpecker or theincredible explosions of calving ice! Return to camp.

Day 06: Lago Skottsberg, Paine Grande
In the morning we will trek along Lago Skottsberg. Here we have terrific viewsof Paine Grande and the famous turbidite tipped towers of the Cuernos. Wecontinue to the mouth of Rio Frances and hike up Valle Frances, directlybelow the Frances Glacier to the British camp between the granite walls ofFortaleza, the Cuernos, and Paine Grande. Avalanches from the FrancaisGlacier keep us mesmerized while views of the Southern Patagonia Icecapare amazing. Return to Pehoe camp.

Day 07: Cerro Castillo
Returning by boat across Lago Pehoe, we traverse along the south shore of Lago Nordenskjold with fantastic views of the whole Paine pluton. Windsweptwater on the exposed lake sometimes creates 500 foot waterspouts. Ourvehicle meets us and carries us on through guanaco breeding grounds thensouth to the picturesque village of Cerro Castillo, close to the Argentinaborder. Here a cozy hotel and dinner await us.

Day 08: Chalten, Lagos Argentino and Viedma
Connect to our Los Glaciares Adventure in Argentina Early morningdeparture to Chalten, crossing the border to Argentina and continue on inthe afternoon driving around the eastern end of Lagos Argentino and Viedmato Chalten, the Tehuelches name for the Fitzroy Massif. Hostel.
(B,L,D)Day 09-11: The complex of Fitzroy, Cerro Torre, Torre Egger and moreSurrounded by incredible peaks of plutonic granite that were sculpted by
immense glaciers these peaks rise at impossible angles.
The complex ofFitzroy (11,703'), Cerro Torre, Torre Egger, Poincenot, and many more havebecome one of climbing's ultimate challenges.
Depending on the weather we will hike to Lago Torre below the magnificentgranite needles of
Cerro Torre,
Torre Egger, and
Torre Stanhart. We will alsohike to
Lago de Los Tres at the foot of Fitzroy surrounded by the towers ofPoincenot, Electrico, Marmotz and more. Perhaps we will be able to scale
Cerro Peligue Tumbado, a minor peak surrounded by unparalleled vistas. Wemight hike to
Paso Marconi for views of the ice cap itself or to
Lago del Desierto, the last undecided portion of the lengthy Chilean/Argentine border.

overnight in a cozy Hostal.Day 12: Calafate, Laguna Pimo, Lago ArgentinoMorning drive to Calafate where we will visit Laguna Pimo by Lago Argentino.Here we can see as many as 20 different species of waterfowl. In theafternoon we visit the famous Moreno Glacier. We get very close to thisimmense wall of ice that used to dam the southern arms of Lago Argentino.Massive calving blocks of ice appear insignificant considering thedimensions of the glacier. Optional glacier walk if weather permits.

For those who can get it. Can be done before or after the trip.
Day 14: Full day boat excursion up Last Hope Sound to the Serrano and BalmacedaGlaciers. On the way we pass spectacular scenery, cormorant and sea lionrookeries, and isolated estancias nestled in the steep sided fjord. Arriving atSerrano Glacier we take a hike right to the very toe of the glacier. Afternoonreturn to Puerto Natales and transfer to a modern public bus for the returntrip to Punta Arenas.
Day 15: Transfer out to the airport.
